In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, today 30th of May 2024, The Young and Woman Initiative – Yawiteam held an impactful session at Adekile Goodwill senior Secondary School, Orita Aperin Ibadan Oyo State to promote menstrual health, and hygiene, and break the stigma surrounding menstruation among young girls.

During the session, we covered menstruation processes/stages, and the hygienic practices that keep them safe from endangering their health and further debunked its myths and misconceptions

we inspired students and distributed sanitary pads to encourage girls to manage their periods confidently and know that proper menstrual hygiene management is vital for their health and self-esteem, helping to prevent themselves from contracting infections as well as boosting their confidence.

Together we can #EndStigmaPeriOD to make menstruation a normal fact of life #PeriodFriendlyWorld and encourage our adolescent girls to take control of their menstrual health and hygiene. #MHDay2024
