Democracy Day is not only a celebration of our nation’s progress but also a time to remember the sacrifices made by those who fought for democratic governance and the rights we enjoy today. Their courage and determination laid the foundation for a society where every citizen has a voice and an opportunity to contribute to national development and at this critical time we remember and pray for safe return of the Teachers and Students abducted at Oriire Local Government.
As young people, we have an important role to play in strengthening democracy. We can do this by being responsible citizens, respecting the rights of others, obeying the law, promoting peace, and participating actively in our communities. Democracy thrives when citizens are informed, engaged, and committed to the common good.
